Sensei Jon Davis founded Dynamic Martial Arts in the fall of 2005 in Shelby Township, Michigan. It was a passion long in the making.
Sensei Davis began training in martial arts as a child. As a youth and teenager, martial arts training provided him with a positive and creative outlet. He grew up practically living in the dojo, spending thousands of hours working on developing the physical skill needed for tournament competition and teaching others what he had learned. He found his fellow students and instructors to be like family and the school to be an intense but safe environment - a place that rewarded good decisions, a positive attitude, leadership, and hard work that went beyond the expectations of the daily world. Sensei Davis is a loyal student of Sensei Brian Ricci - head of the Zen Bei Butoku-Kai International.
We carry on this tradition at Dynamic Martial Arts. It's a school where we train to improve, and that means a lot of effort, focus and repetition. We also share our stories and our goals, growing together in a supportive, fun, driven environment. We believe that the harder you work, the more you forge the strength to harness your mind and body - and the better you'll be able to act and react in every challenge that you encounter.
To be changing, evolving and progressing towards your best version of yourself is to by Dynamic.

At Dynamic Martial Arts, we study out of the Zen Bei Butoku-Kai International. The Zen Bei is an organization that is committed to upholding the standards of traditional martial arts training, as taught by founder O'Sensei Richard Kim. The current head of the Zen Bei Butoku-Kai is Sensei Brian Ricci, senior student to O'Sensei Richard Kim. Sensei Ricci is the senior instructor of the organization, and is the Sensei to our dojo's chief instructor, Sensei Jon Davis.
